Bich Cau Dao Quan
Bich Cau Dao Quan, located on Cat Linh street, Hanoi, is a cultural - historical relic associated with the legends of Tran Tu Uyen, which is considered a "fairyland" in the middle of the ancient capital Thang Long. According to legend, in the past, Tran Tu Uyen was a scholar who built a reading shop on a high hill at the top of Bich Cau street. While attending a festival, he met a beautiful girl and fell in love. After that, he bought a painting of a girl resembling that girl and took it home. Strangely, from the painting came out a fairy named Giang Kieu. The two of them fell in love, together they took medicine to save people, practiced immortality, studied religion, and did many good deeds. After attaining enlightenment, Tran Tu Uyen was posthumously awarded the title of "An Quoc True Person" by King Le Thanh Tong. From the late 15th and early 16th centuries, this place was developed into a Taoist temple with strong Taoist imprints. Bich Cau Dao Quan used to be a place where Taoists practiced, and at the same time was also a place where guests, mandarins and scholars came to enjoy the scenery and recite poetry. Through many upheavals, the relics were degraded and destroyed, but were later restored by people many times. Today, Bich Cau Dao Quan has an architecture including Nghi gate, front altar, harem, Mother's house and guest house, and also holds many worship statues, stone steles and valuable artifacts. Nguyen Xi's Tomb and Temple
Nguyen Xi's Tomb and Temple is a typical historical and architectural artistic relic of Nghe An, associated with the life and career of Cuong Quoc Cong Nguyen Xi - a famous general and prominent politician during the Later Le Dynasty. Nguyen Xi was born in 1397 in Thuong Xa, now in Dong Loc commune, Nghe An province. He participated in the Lam Son uprising from the early days and together with the insurgent army achieved many great victories such as Bo Dang, Tra Lan, Tot Dong - Chuc Dong, Xuong Giang and Dong Quan. After the country gained independence, he continued to assist during the four dynasties of King Le, making many contributions to building and protecting the Dai Viet nation. Not only his achievements in politics and battle, Nguyen Xi also focused on reclamation, establishing villages, developing transportation, markets and people's lives, especially in the Cua Lo - Cua Hoi area. Those contributions have left a deep mark in the history of formation and development of Nghe An. Nguyen Xi died in 1465, at the age of 69, and was buried in his hometown. Two years later, King Le Thanh Tong built a temple to worship him. Today, the mausoleum and temple are about 300 meters apart, located in the middle of a peaceful village space. The temple has an "internal, foreign" architecture, outstanding with a semicircular lake, ritual gate system, exquisitely carved wooden structures and many traditional themes of four sacred animals, four precious animals and flowers. An Vinh Communal House
An Vinh communal house is one of the typical ancient communal houses on Ly Son island, carrying special value in terms of history, culture and sovereignty over Vietnam's islands and islands. The communal house was built around the 18th century, went through many upheavals of time, war and natural disasters but is still preserved, restored and preserved by generations of people. The communal house is located near Ly Son seaport, has a campus of about 2,000m², the communal house faces the mainland. The project has the architectural style of the Nguyen Dynasty, with a Tam-shaped structure with a lower, middle and upper communal house linked together. The four sacred and five blessings motifs are shown on the roof and architectural structures, conveying the desire for a peaceful and prosperous life of the island community. An Vinh communal house is also a place to worship ancestors and a community center for 13 families on Ly Son island. In particular, this is one of the important locations where the Commemoration Ceremony of Hoang Sa soldiers takes place in the third lunar month every year. The ceremony commemorates the soldiers who obeyed the royal court's orders and crossed the sea to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa to carry out their duties, contributing to protecting and affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands. Along with architectural values and traditional cultural activities, An Vinh Communal House is a place to preserve historical memories of the Ly Son community, expressing the ethic of "when drinking water, remember the source", patriotism and the sense of preserving sovereignty over the sea and islands. An Vinh Communal House has been classified as a National Monument, while the Hoang Sa Soldiers' Commemoration Ceremony has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Lam Phu Lam
Lam Phu Lam is a unique relic of Phu Yen, with outstanding historical, cultural and architectural value. The relic is located in Phu Yen ward, Dak Lak province, on a campus of about 4,000m². Lam was formed a long time ago, initially as a place to store agricultural products of Phu Lam village, and at the same time as a place to worship the sage Huynh Duc Chieu - the person who was instrumental in exploring and creating this land. This was also the workplace of the village management apparatus and meetings to discuss common matters of the community. The most special feature of Lam Phu Lam is the thatched-roof house architecture, a traditional architectural style typical of Phu Yen and the South Central region. The temple consists of 3 main compartments and 2 auxiliary compartments, with a solid wooden frame system with 26 columns. In particular, the building has two layers of roof: the lower roof is made of rammed earth on a bamboo slat foundation and the upper roof is thatched, creating both durability and adaptation to the harsh climate of the Central region. Inside, there are still many sophisticated wood carvings with traditional themes such as dragon, phoenix, pine, apricot, bamboo, chrysanthemum, longevity, and pine loc, demonstrating the artistic and technical level of ancient artisans. Within the relic grounds, there are also religious works and an ancient ordination system with historical and cultural value. As one of the traditional wooden houses still relatively intact, Lam Phu Lam has special significance in researching the history of exploration, community life and folk architecture of the South Central region. Ma Yen Mountain
Ma Yen Mountain - the resting place of two kings of the Dinh and Early Le dynasties. Ma Yen Mountain is a limestone mountain located in the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Special National Monument, Ninh Binh province, shaped like a saddle, about 80–200m high. The mountain is associated with the history of the Dinh - Early Le dynasty, the dynasty played a particularly important role in the nation's history in the 10th century. This is also where the tombs of King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh are located. On top of Ma Yen mountain is the mausoleum of King Dinh Tien Hoang. To reach the mausoleum, visitors must pass more than 200 stone steps along the mountainside. From above, you can see a panoramic view of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu with rolling limestone mountains, fields and peaceful villages. The elevated position also creates a space that is both spacious and sacred for the resting place of the king who had the merit of suppressing the rebellion of 12 warlords, unifying the country and establishing the state of Dai Co Viet in 968. At the foot of Ma Yen mountain is the mausoleum of King Le Dai Hanh, located in a large campus, leaning against the mountain and facing the field ahead. If King Dinh's mausoleum is located on the top of the mountain, then King Le's mausoleum is at the foot of the mountain, creating a special feature for the relic complex. Le Dai Hanh was the successor of the Dinh dynasty, and had great contributions in leading Dai Co Viet's army and people to defeat the invading Song army in 981, protecting the country's independence. Ghost Gate Quan (Ghost Face Mountain)
Devil's Face Mountain is a relic site in the Chi Lang Special National Monument Area, in Chi Lang commune, Lang Son province, with many historical, cultural and landscape values, attracting tourists to learn about the land that once marked many victories in the nation's history. The mountain impresses with a natural cliff shaped like a devil's face, with stone cavities forming quite clear eyes and noses. According to folk legend, Devil's Face Mountain is not a symbol of evil but is considered a god who protects the people and the country, associated with victories against foreign invaders in the land of Chi Lang. Here, there is also a story about Lieu Thang, general of the Ming Dynasty, who after being beheaded at Ma Yen Mountain, ran north, but when he reached the foot of Devil's Face Mountain, he was frightened, fell off his horse and died in battle. Dong Nuoc Temple
Dong Nuoc Temple belongs to Ngoc Ha village, now Ngoc Ha ward, Hanoi. According to legend, in the past, this land often had springs of water gushing out from the ground into piles of water, so the people called it Dong Nuoc. Ngoc genealogy says that this place worships Princess Ngoc Nuong - who is said to be the daughter of the Dragon King, who once appeared to help King Tran Anh Tong fight the enemy. After winning the battle, the king repaired the temple and conferred divine title on her. The current temple bears many architectural marks of the Nguyen Dynasty, including three gates, garden, left moat, right moc, main temple and harem. Inside, the altars, hammock doors, and incense burners are exquisitely carved; especially the space to worship the Holy Mother of God and the gods in folk beliefs. Not only has architectural and religious value, Dong Nuoc Temple is also a place for community cultural activities for residents of Ngoc Ha village and neighboring villages. Every year, the temple festival is held on the 21st day of the third lunar month with incense offering ceremonies, palanquin processions and traditional cultural activities. Tan Ngai Communal House
Tan Ngai communal house is located in Tan Ngai hamlet, Phuoc My Trung commune, Vinh Long province. The communal house was built in 1850, and was consecrated under the reign of King Tu Duc in 1852. After many wars and renovations, the communal house is still preserved by the people as a space for beliefs and community cultural activities. The communal house is a place to worship Bon Canh Thanh Hoang, the wise predecessors and later sages, praying for peace in the country and people, good weather and good harvests. In particular, this place also marks many important events in the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists. Since 1930, the communal house has been a place for organizing meetings and revolutionary propaganda. During the years of resistance, the communal house was the place to establish the government, organize conferences, open popular education classes, and mobilize people to contribute to the "Golden Week". Ba Si Pagoda
Ba Si Pagoda, also known as Pysey Varapram Pagoda, is located in Giong Chua hamlet, Phuong Thanh commune, Vinh Long province according to the new administrative boundary. The pagoda was built in the late 17th century, experienced by 11 generations of abbots and is one of the works that represents the cultural and religious life of the Khmer people in Tra Vinh. The pagoda has a campus of about 6 hectares, located under the canopy of ancient trees, including many buildings such as the gate, main hall, library, hallway and Pali school. The pagoda's architecture is characterized by Khmer culture, expressed through its layout and artistic decorative lines. Not only is it a living and practicing place for many monks, Buddhists and Khmer compatriots, during the years of resistance, Ba Si Pagoda was also a place to nurture and protect local revolutionary cadres. Hai Yen - Binh Hung special area
Hai Yen - Binh Hung special area is located in Thanh Dam hamlet, Tan Hai commune, Ca Mau province, next to Cai Doi canal, about 4 km from Cai Doi Vam town. This is a historical relic marking the painful years of war in the land of Ca Mau. In 1957, the US - Diem government brought Nguyen Lac Hoa and a number of households to migrate to this area, then gradually built up the armed forces and established the Hai Yen - Binh Hung special zone. From here, this area became the place of operation of an anti-revolutionary armed force, causing many terrorist incidents and killings of officials and people. According to data from the Ca Mau Provincial Museum, 1,675 officials and compatriots were murdered in this area. Those losses are evidence of war crimes and remind today's generations of the value of peace and the sacrifices of our ancestors. Today, the Hai Yen - Binh Hung Special Zone Memorial was built at the relic site, as a place to commemorate the victims and educate historical traditions for the young generation. Phia Diem cave site
Phia Diem cave site - Remains of ancient Vietnamese residence. Phia Diem cave site located in Na Soong village, Yen Trach commune, Lang Son province, is a valuable archaeological relic, ranked as a national historical relic in 2003. Phia Diem Cave belongs to the Mai Pha cultural space, dating back to about 5,000–3,500 years ago, belonging to the late Neolithic - early Metal period. Through surveys, archaeologists have discovered many artifacts such as stone axes, flakes, bowls, ceramic bowls, and thousands of mollusk shells and animal bones and teeth. These vestiges show that ancient residents lived, worked and made a living here thousands of years ago. Truong Vinh Ky beer house
Truong Vinh Ky stele house is located in Vinh Thanh commune, Vinh Long province, a work built in his hometown, marking the birthplace of scientist Truong Vinh Ky (1837–1898). According to local documents, he was born on December 6, 1837 in Vinh Thanh village, also known as Cai Mon. The stele house is built in the style of four open sides, with 16 round columns and a tiled roof; In the center is a blue stone stele about 2.5 m high. The front of the stele is engraved in three languages: French, Chinese and National, creating a special feature for the monument commemorating a famous linguistic scholar. Giong Thi Dam - Go Quan Cung historical site
Giong Thi Dam - Go Quan Cung historical site, now in An Phuoc commune, Dong Thap province, is a place associated with an important victory in the revolutionary movement in the South. On September 26, 1959, Battalion 502 of Kien Phong province organized a battle at Giong Thi Dam, destroying and disintegrating a large part of the enemy force operating in the Dong Thap Muoi river area. Immediately afterwards, at Go Quan Cung, our troops continued to defeat the enemy forces that came to the rescue. With only 42 gunmen, Battalion 502 won against a force many times larger, capturing many weapons, vehicles and capturing prisoners. The Giong Thi Dam - Go Quan Cung victory has special significance, contributing to enhancing the prestige of the revolution, strengthening trust and encouraging the fighting spirit of the people of Kien Phong as well as the Mekong Delta provinces. This is considered one of the typical battles of the Dong Khoi movement in the South. To remember historical victories, relics were built and preserved at the place where the battle took place. Cai Mon Church
Cai Mon Church is a religious building with a long history in Vinh Long, associated with the formation and development of the Cai Mon religion since 1702. The church is located on Highway 57, next to Cai Mon canal, standing out with its tall bell tower towering in the middle of the rich countryside. The special highlight of the church is the bell tower, which is over 54 meters high, weighs about 800 tons, and has 9 floors. The tower has a set of 6 bronze bells cast in France from the late 19th century, total weight about 4 tons. Among them, the largest bell weighs 1 ton. The bell not only signals the time of mass but also carries a spiritual meaning, reminding parishioners to aim for good things. Lang Nac Cave
Archaeological relics of Lang Nac Cave - Lang Son. Lang Nac Cave, also known as Tiger's Mouth Cave or Pac Gac Cave, is an archaeological relic of special value in Lang Son province. The relic is currently located in Mai Sao village, Nhan Ly commune, Lang Son province. The cave is located in a limestone mountain range, about 100 meters above the valley floor, the cave entrance is about 18 meters wide and 16 meters high. In 1968, the relic was discovered by local people and reported to the cultural agency. Through many surveys, archaeologists have found thousands of relics, including prehistoric tools, pottery pieces and scraps dating back to earlier than the Bac Son culture. The discoveries at Lang Nac Cave are important in studying the history of prehistoric people's residence, showing that the land of Chi Lang was inhabited very early by humans. Wind Cave – Lang Son
Lang Son Wind Cave (also known as Thong Gio Cave, the literal name is Mai Sao Phong Dong or Thuy Van Dong) is a national-level archaeological and scenic relic complex, famous for the wild and magical beauty of natural stalactites. The cave is located in Sao Thuong B village, Nhan Ly commune, Lang Son province. The cave has a total length of about 700 meters, 50 to 70 meters wide, including two main floors and a basement. The cave entrance is located halfway up the mountain, where cool winds blow all year round. Long Quang ancient temple
Long Quang ancient pagoda is one of the typical ancient pagodas of Can Tho, opened in 1824, associated with the formation and development of Buddhism in the land of Binh Thuy. The temple is currently located in Long Hoa ward, Can Tho city, on the Binh Thuy river. Initially, the pagoda was named Long Truong Tu. Around 1875, the pagoda was renamed Long Quang, both inheriting the tradition of Long Truong and reminiscent of Linh Quang Ancestral Temple. A unique feature of Long Quang ancient pagoda is the system of worship statues made of sandalwood, created by Can Tho artisans, led by Tai Cong Kiem, in 1922. About 50 statues have vivid and sophisticated lines, especially the statues of Ho Phap, Tieu Dien and the Arhat statues. Muong Va Tower
Muong Va Tower is an ancient architectural and artistic work, bearing the cultural and Buddhist imprint of the Lao ethnic community in the Northwest region. The tower is located in Muong Va village, Muong Va commune, Sop Cop district, on an artificial hill between the village space and a large field. According to local legend, the tower was built about 400 years ago, along with a pagoda to serve as a place for religious and community activities. The pagoda no longer exists, but Muong Va Tower is still preserved by people for many generations. The tower is about 13 meters high, shaped like a pen reaching into the sky, consists of 5 floors, built of bricks and linked with lime and sand. The floors are decorated with many typical patterns such as leaves, chrysanthemums, twisted strings and elephant shapes, creating a beauty that is both elegant and majestic. The top of the tower is shaped like a lotus bud, clearly showing the influence of Buddhist culture.
