Bao Loc Temple Festival in Nam Dinh Time: August 20 of the lunar calendar Bao Loc Temple Festival in Nam Dinh takes place on August 20 every year, in My Phuc commune, My Loc district, Nam Dinh province. Bao Loc Temple was formerly also called An Lac, located in Bao Loc village, Buu Bi district, My Loc district, My Phuc commune, My Loc district today. From Nam Dinh city, follow road 38A for about 5km to reach Chau Giang dike, go about 2km along the dike road to reach Bao Loc temple.  This temple was built on the "wooden ladder" land of the father of Hung Dao Vuong, named Tran Lieu. Legend has it that An Lac hamlet is where Tran Quoc Tuan was born, the man who made the history of the Vietnamese nation glorious. With his great merits, Tran Quoc Tuan was given the title "National Duke of Hung Dao Dai Vuong". After his death, the court gave him the title "Grand Master, Patriarch of the Workers' Nation Vu Hung Dao Great King". He is considered "Father", "Saint Tran" and is forever a living legend in the minds of the Vietnamese people. The people of An Lac hamlet, to honor and remember the merits of King Hung Dao, built a temple to worship him here.\ Bao Loc Temple was built in 1928, and it took up to 5 years to complete the project. The temple is located right in the middle, facing east, on the right is the temple worshiping the Mother Goddess, on the left is the temple worshiping Buddha. Bao Loc temple has the largest scale compared to the ancient architecture here. The temple is built with a nail-shaped architecture, including a front hall of 7 compartments, a harem of 3 compartments, and a middle hall of 5 compartments. Khai Thanh Temple is located behind Bao Loc temple, has an architecture quite similar to the main Bao Loc temple but the foundation is more than 3 meters high, and is a place to worship Tran Quoc Tuan's parents, wife and two children.  Every year, on Tran Quoc Tuan's taboo day, the 20th day of the 8th lunar month, people here hold a grand festival to commemorate Tran Quoc Tuan. This is a big festival that has attracted the attention of many tourists from all over.
