The most ideal time to visit Pù Luông is generally from May to October. In late May and early June, as the new rice crop begins, Pù Luông transforms, donning a fresh, gentle green mantle. All the terraced fields turn a vibrant green with young rice seedlings. Even though it's summer, visitors to Pù Luông will find the weather quite cool and airy, with lush greenery everywhere and temperatures typically below 30 degrees Celsius.
However, Pù Luông is arguably at its most beautiful during September and October. This is when Pù Luông enters its "golden season," the time of ripe, heavy rice stalks. At this point, all the fields and terraced rice paddies shimmer with a radiant golden hue, blending with the sweet fragrance of ripe rice – a peaceful, simple, and incredibly familiar scent of home.
Mr. Tạ Công Tâm, a visitor from Bến Tre, happily shared after his visit to Pù Luông: “I was fortunate to travel here right during the ripe rice season. The terraced fields, golden with rice plants, shimmered like waves, and the fragrance of the ripe rice created a feeling that was so real, so rustic, simple, and peaceful, just like returning home.”

Bitter bamboo plants grow in various mountainous and high-altitude regions of the Northwest. Locals can harvest bitter bamboo shoots almost anywhere.
Mr. Trương Văn Minh, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Bá Thước district, stated: “Most visitors to Pù Luông seek to engage in cultural experiences, explore natural landscapes, and combine this with relaxation. Therefore, in the coming time, the district will continue to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Tourism Association to conduct surveys, provide tourism vocational training, and guide the development of suitable products for the end of the year. This includes focusing on developing wellness services such as herbal baths and treatments, and enhancing cultural exchanges, artistic performances, and indigenous cultural exploration.”
With its beautiful natural landscape, Pù Luông is truly likened to a paradise amidst the vast jungle. It would be a missed opportunity if you didn't experience and enjoy it at least once.
